About Our Church

The first North Haverhill Methodist class was established in 1820. After existing as a shared charge for many years, it became a charge by itself in 1845. The original church building was erected in 1843. The church building burned and was replaced in 1865. In 1962 North Haverhill became a shared charge with Woodsville United Methodist Church and remains as that today. The church is located in the Connecticut River Valley in the shadow of Mt. Moosilauke and is surrounded by rich farmland.

North Haverhill United Methodist Church enjoys a close relationship with the Haverhill community-at-large and serves parishioners coming from several of the surrounding towns.

Service Information

Parishioners enjoy a blended Sunday morning worship of both traditional and contemporary elements. The church prides itself in its gifted and diverse music offerings sung by its traditional chancel choir and its large praise group known as S.H.I.N.E. (Sing His Incredible News Everywhere). The Sunday service is Spirit led and offers sermons that connect Biblical scripture to current life issues. Prayer is an integral part of the morning worship as is Holy Communion which is offered the first and third Sundays of the month.

An active United Methodist Women's group and a Men's group are both a very important part of the life of the North Haverhill church. The children and youth are offered an excellent Sunday School program, youth group, Junior choir and praise teams as well as opportunities to take part in the regular worship service. Bible studies are offered for adults as well as a Sunday morning adult Sunday school class.

The Hearts, Minds, and Doors of our church are open to all! We believe that everyone who walks through our doors comes at Christ's invitation.
